Job Summary
- The Business Development Officer / Executive is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities that support the organization’s growth objectives within the oil & gas and civil engineering sectors.
- The role requires a strong commercial mindset, relationship management skills, and the ability to align client needs with company capabilities in project delivery and procurement-driven environments.
- The ideal candidate must have strong experience in business development within engineering or oil & gas environments, with proven ability to build client relationships, generate leads, negotiate deals, and support revenue growth while working closely with technical, operations, and procurement teams.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the oil & gas and civil engineering sectors.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and key industry stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity, and potential business opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and commercial bids to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to align client requirements with service delivery capabilities.
- Manage the full business development cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
- Negotiate contract terms and support commercial discussions with clients and partners.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and provide regular progress reports to management.
- Represent the organization at meetings, industry events, and client engagements.
- Ensure all business development activities comply with company policies and commercial standards.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within oil & gas or civil engineering sectors.
- 3–4 years in a senior or executive business development role with proven revenue generation responsibility.
- Strong understanding of client relationship management and deal negotiation.
- Experience in proposal development, tendering, and contract discussions is an advantage.
- Proven ability to work with technical and operational teams in a project-driven environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and CRM systems.
