Job Title: Chief Security Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• The Chief Security Officer is responsible for developing and executing the organization’s overall security strategy, covering physical, operational, and information security. The role ensures effective risk management, regulatory compliance, crisis response, and business continuity while aligning security initiatives with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and implement security strategy, policies, and risk management frameworks
• Conduct threat assessments and monitor geopolitical and security risks
• Establish and maintain a Security Management System (aligned with IFC standards)

Physical & Operational Security:

• Oversee physical security operations, access control, and guard force management
• Implement security protocols and coordinate investigations into incidents
• Maintain intelligence networks with security agencies and stakeholders

Crisis Management & Business Continuity:

• Lead crisis management planning and emergency response frameworks
• Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans
• Coordinate with emergency services and relevant stakeholders

Compliance & Stakeholder Management:

• Ensure compliance with Nigerian laws, free zone regulations, and security standards
• Manage relationships with law enforcement, military, and regulatory bodies

Personnel Security:

• Oversee background checks, vetting processes, and security training programs
• Promote organization-wide security awareness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field
• Master’s degree is an added advantage
• Professional certifications (CPP, PSP, CSC) preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 15 years of security experience, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles
• Experience in high-security environments (free zones, ports, airports, industrial complexes)
• Background in military, law enforcement, or intelligence services is an advantage
