Job Title: Finance Manager (Chartered Accountant)

Location: Lagos

The Role

  • The work of a Financial Controller involves providing professional accounting services to the company, i.e., Management of all financial transactions, Budgeting, Funds Planning and Sourcing, Financial Data Analysis, and reporting

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing Sales receipts from multiple payment platforms and effective reconciliations of funds flow to avoid shortages or any form of losses
  • Assist in project financial planning and cost analysis;
  • Analyze financial data to ensure efficient use of resources;
  • Perform comprehensive analysis and projection, relating to business or research trends;
  • Oversee the development and monitoring of budgets, projects, general operation, contractsetc;
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal Government regulations and restrictions
  • Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the company’s goals and growth plans.
  • Train the Finance, HR, and Administration staff and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial resources management matters.
  • Work with the CFO on the implementation of strategic financial management.
  • Assess the benefits of all prospective contracts and advise the management on design and implementation matters.
  • Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available, such that all purchases have adequate audit trails.
  • Oversee the management and coordination of all financial reporting activities for the company
  • Attend Management and Project meetings.
  • Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the company’s needs.
  • Investigate cost-effective benefit plans and other fringe benefits that the company may offer employees and potential employees with the goal of attracting and retaining qualified individuals.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and timely calculations of wage incentives, commissions, and salaries for the staff.

Job Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor`s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields, and should be ACCA or ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) certified.
  • MBA will be an advantage.

Managerial Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of accounting post-qualification experience with at least 4 years in managerial capacity.
  • Corporate Finance experience working with a multinational company will be an advantage.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate employees
  • Must be highly proficient in the use of computers and have working knowledge of at least one accounting software
  • Must have knowledge of Financial Modeling and extensive use of spreadsheets to quantify and illustrate routine financial reports, statements, and/or projections.

Other Requirements:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern accounting theories and practices.
  • Ability to design internal financial controls and implement accounting structures
  • Ability to analyze accounting data and financial statements.
  • Initiative, resourcefulness, integrity, thoroughness, accuracy, and administrative ability.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Good company organization and planning skills.
  • Business Acumen & Strategic Management.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
