Role Overview

• A Wellness Assistant helps promote healthy lifestyles by assisting with wellness programs, supporting clients or staff, and coordinating activities related to physical, mental, and emotional health.

Key Responsibilities
Program Support:

• Assist in planning and organizing wellness programs (fitness sessions, health workshops, stress management activities)
• Help set up events, classes, or wellness campaigns

Client/Participant Support:

• Provide basic guidance on healthy habits (nutrition, exercise, sleep)
• Support clients during wellness activities (e.g., yoga, fitness sessions)
• Monitor participation and encourage engagement

Administrative Duties:

• Schedule appointments and wellness sessions
• Maintain records of participants and program outcomes
• Handle emails, calls, and general inquiries

Health Promotion:

• Share educational materials on wellness topics
• Encourage healthy lifestyle choices in workplaces, schools, or clinics

Collaboration:

• Work with wellness coaches, fitness trainers, or healthcare professionals
• Assist in implementing health initiatives

Qualifications & Skills
Education:

• Diploma or Degree in: Health Promotion, Nutrition, Psychology, Fitness or related field (sometimes optional for entry-level roles)

Skills:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of health and wellness principles
• Organizational and multitasking abilities
• Empathy and a supportive attitude
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, scheduling tools)
