Job Title: Lead Instrumentation and Control Technician

Location: Umungasi, Abia

Job Summary

• Responsible for overseeing control systems, automation, and instrumentation to ensure stable, safe, and optimized plant operations.
• The role ensures the reliability and accuracy of measurement and control systems, enabling efficient process control, operational visibility, and performance optimization.

Job Details

• Maintain and optimize PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems; ensure accuracy, calibration, and reliability of instrumentation; manage control logic, alarms, and interlocks; troubleshoot control system faults and instrumentation failures; develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs; support commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities; ensure proper documentation of control systems; drive process optimization and automation improvements; participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure safe operation of control systems and instrumentation; enforce compliance with HSE and functional safety standards; support implementation of safety instrumented systems (SIS); ensure proper alarm management and safeguarding; participate in incident investigations and risk assessments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control Engineering, or related discipline; relevant certifications in automation or control systems are an added advantage.
• 6–10 years of experience in automation and control systems within oil and gas or similar industrial facilities, including hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, and DCS platforms.
