Job Title: Solar Design Engineer
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in line with project requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate technical feasibility and system requirements.
- Prepare detailed system layouts, single-line diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Perform load analysis and energy yield simulations to support accurate system sizing.
- Select appropriate system components, including modules, inverters, cables, and mounting structures.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and local regulations.
- Use design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, and Helioscope to develop accurate system designs.
- Prepare technical documentation, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and project reports.
- Collaborate closely with sales, procurement, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Support the delivery of reliable, high-performance, and cost-effective solar solutions.
Skills Requirements
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with at least 3 years experience.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in solar PV system design using AutoCAD, PVSyst, and Helioscope.
- Solid understanding of electrical and basic structural design principles.
- Knowledge of solar standards, grid interconnection requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with load analysis and energy yield estimation.
- Strong component selection knowledge (modules, inverters, cables, balance of system).
- Ability to prepare BOQs and detailed project documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and technical reporting.
