Job Title: Internal Audit & Compliance Lead

Location: Lagos

Summary

• This role is to safeguard the bank's integrity, assets and operations by ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and providing independent assurance through audits, in line with the bank's digital operational model.

Responsibilities
Internal Audit:

• Plan and execute the internal audit program covering all business and operational areas.
• Conduct audits Of core banking systems, digital payment platforms, and operational processes.
• Report audit findings with actionable recommendations to management and the Board Audit & Risk Committee
• Follow up on the implementation of agreed audit recommendations.

Compliance Management:

• Monitor and ensure adherence to CBN regulations, NDIC guidelines, BOFIA, with NFIU and other bodies AML/CFT rules, Data Protection laws, and other statutory requirements.
• Develop and implement compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Serve as the bank's Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and ensure timely filing Of returns
• Conduct compliance risk assessments across all business units.
• Advise management on risk exposures and emerging threats.

Digital Operations Oversight

• Review and monitor transaction monitoring systems for suspicious activities.
• Ensure reconciliation between core banking, payment gateways, and settlement systems.
• Support cyber and data security compliance in collaboration with IT.

Training & Awareness

• Conduct periodic compliance, risk, and control training for staff
• Promote a strong risk and compliance culture across the organization.

Reporting & Governance:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance and risk reports to management and regulators
• Maintain strong relationships with regulators, auditors, and other oversight bodies.
