Procurement Officer at a Vibrant and Breakfast Cafe - Zinnia Agency

Zinnia Agency - Our client, a new Vibrant and Breakfast cafe in Lagos, is seeking a smart, detail-oriented, and reliable individual to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase high-quality food ingredients, beverages, packaging materials, and operational supplies at the most economical cost
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost efficiency
• Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company policies
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely restocking to avoid shortages or overstocking
• Conduct regular market surveys to stay updated on price trends and new suppliers
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier contracts, and pricing history
• Track deliveries and ensure all items received meet quality and quantity specifications
• Liaise with the kitchen team to forecast daily and weekly ingredient requirements
• Implement and maintain inventory control systems (including FIFO method where applicable)
• Ensure proper storage standards are communicated and followed for perishable items
• Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure consistency, reliability, and accountability
• Resolve supply issues, delays, or discrepancies promptly
• Work with accounts to reconcile invoices, delivery notes, and payments
• Monitor and control procurement budget to reduce wastage and unnecessary costs
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company quality standards
• Develop cost-saving strategies without compromising quality
• Prepare periodic procurement and inventory reports for management review
• Support new product launches by sourcing required ingredients and materials
• Coordinate emergency purchases and contingency sourcing when needed

Requirements

• Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc in a relevant field
• Proven experience in procurement, preferably in hospitality, food service, or retail
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Good knowledge of local markets and suppliers in Lagos
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Preferred Qualities:
• Experience in a café, restaurant, or food production environment
• Basic knowledge of inventory management systems
• High level of integrity and accountability

Salary
N200,000 - N300,000 per month.
