Job Brief
- We are seeking a Project Officer who will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and reporting mini-grid projects.
- The role involves budget tracking, regulatory compliance, grant and tender management, and performance evaluation of project sites to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning, Monitoring & Reporting:
- Develop detailed project plans and timelines.
- Monitor project progress on a weekly basis.
- Prepare and submit monthly stakeholder reports.
- Ensure high reporting compliance (≥95%).
Project Budget Management:
- Track project budgets against actual expenditures.
- Conduct variance analysis at each project milestone.
- Provide insights to support financial decision-making.
Regulatory & Compliance Management:
- Initiate and manage all regulatory and compliance documentation.
- Ensure accurate and complete submission of grant-related documents.
- Maintain minimal documentation errors (≤2%).
- Ensure timely review and submission of all compliance requirements.
Grant & Tender Applications:
- Identify and process eligible grant and tender opportunities.
- Prepare and submit applications before deadlines.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation.
- Maintain error rates below 5%.
Grant Claims Management:
- Process and submit grant claims within deadlines.
- Ensure all claims are accurate and well-documented.
- Maintain error rates below 2%.
Site Performance Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Generate and distribute monthly site performance reports.
- Ensure high data accuracy (≥98%).
- Identify underperforming sites and recommend corrective actions.
- Support implementation of performance improvement strategies.
Productive Use Equipment (PUE) Monitoring:
- Track and analyze energy consumption before and after PUE deployment.
- Evaluate the impact of PUEs on business performance.
- Prepare monthly reports on PUE performance and consumption trends.

Educational Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management, preferably in energy or mini-grid projects.
- Experience with grant management and regulatory compliance is an added advantage.
