Job Title: Risk Analyst / Risk Associate

The Role
- The Risk Analyst/Risk Associate will support the Enterprise Risk Management arm of the organization towards developing risk management strategies to safeguard the company’s interests while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Operational & Process Risk: Assist in identifying process gaps and control weaknesses across the lending lifecycle (origination, disbursement, collections).
- Risk Report & Analytics: Assist in analyzing loan applications and assess borrower risk using internal and external data sources (KYC, credit bureaus, AML, sanctions).
- Participate in risk assessment, control testing and reporting with actionable insights.
- Fraud Risk Management: Monitor fraud detection rules and redflags. Collaborate with collections and operations teams to prevent fraud-related incidences.
- Loan Monitoring: Monitor violations of credit and risk policies, provide analysis, conclusion and recommendation.
- Regulatory & Compliance Support: Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements (NFIU, NDPR).
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Credit, Collections, Sales, Product and finance teams to improve risk outcomes.
- Undertake all such other roles and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time and participate in risk management training to enhance knowledge, practice and compliance across board.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in risk management within the financial services industry (2-3 years).
- Preferably, experience in a Fintech environment.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, credit analysis, and risk assessment methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- Candidate must reside in Lagos.
