Job Title: IT Operations Manager

Location: Lagos
Work Mode: Hybrid

Role Overview

• We are seeking a highly capable IT Operations Manager to lead and manage our IT operations, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our technology platforms.
• This role is critical to maintaining high service availability and supporting the continuous growth of our fintech ecosystem.
• The ideal candidate will have strong experience in fintech or financial services environments, with a deep understanding of transaction systems, uptime requirements, and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily IT operations, including infrastructure, networks, systems, and service delivery
• Ensure high availability and performance of payment platforms and transaction systems
• Manage incident, problem, and change management processes in line with best practices (e.g., ITIL)
• Lead and supervise IT support and operations teams
• Monitor system performance, identify risks, and implement proactive solutions
• Coordinate with product, engineering, and compliance teams to support business objectives
• Ensure systems meet security, data protection, and regulatory requirements relevant to financial services
• Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and technology partners
• Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, automation, and system resilience
• Prepare operational reports, dashboards, and KPIs for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 6 - 10 years of relevant experience in IT operations
• Proven experience in fintech, banking, or financial services IT environments
• Strong understanding of:
  • Payment systems and transaction processing
  • Infrastructure management (cloud/on-prem)
  • Network and system security
  • IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
• Experience managing high-availability systems (24/7 environments)
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with digital payments, switching platforms, APIs, and Payment servies
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements (AML, data protection, etc.)
• Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, AWS/Azure, or equivalent are an advantage.
