Job Title: Assistant Procurement Manager – Scrap Materials

Job Summary
- The Assistant Procurement Manager will support the procurement function with a primary focus on sourcing and purchasing scrap materials.
- The role also involves coordinating procurement team activities, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to meet organizational targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Procurement Manager in sourcing and purchasing scrap materials in line with company requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers of scrap materials.
- Negotiate pricing and ensure procurement of materials at the best possible cost, quality, and terms.
- Coordinate daily procurement activities and supervise procurement team operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and supplier documentation.
- Monitor market trends and pricing for scrap materials to inform procurement decisions.
- Work closely with Warehouse and Logistics teams to ensure proper handling, delivery, and inventory management of procured materials.
- Maintain and update supplier databases and procurement records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical sourcing standards.
- Track procurement targets and support the achievement of departmental KPIs.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly procurement reports.
- Assist in resolving supplier-related issues and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Support contract administration and documentation processes where required.
Educational Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years relevant experience in procurement, preferably within scrap materials, metals, or related industries.
- Prior experience in supervising or coordinating a team is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
