Job Title: WordPress Developer

Summary

• We are looking for a WordPress Developer who understands how development decisions impact search engine rankings, user experience, and conversions.
• This is not a typical “just build pages” role.
• You will be responsible for developing fast, scalable, SEO-optimized websites that are designed to:
  • Rank on Google as well as all other SERPs
  • Perform well in AI-generated search results (AI Overviews)
  • Convert visitors into leads, clients or customers You’ll work closely with our SEO team, meaning that your ability to translate SEO strategy into clean, high-performing website structures is critical.

Key Responsibilities
Technical SEO-Driven WordPress Development:

• Build and customize WordPress websites with best practices built into the foundation
• Structure pages using proper heading hierarchy, semantic HTML, and internal linking support
• Ensure all builds are optimized for search intent, readability, and crawlability
• Implement schema markup (e.g., FAQ, Article, Breadcrumb).

Performance & Core Web Vitals Optimization:

• Build lightweight, fast-loading (i.e. mobile-first oriented) websites
• Optimized fully for Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP)
• Reduce unnecessary plugins and bloated code
• Implement lazy loading, asset optimization, and caching strategies.

UI/UX with Conversion in Mind:

• Develop layouts that improve User engagement, Time on page, and Conversion rates
• Ensure strong above-the-fold clarity and CTA placements with strategy
• Collaborate with SEO/content teams to align design with user intent.

Scalable Site Architecture

• Build SEO-friendly structures for: Category and tag hierarchy, Internal linking systems
• Ensure clean URL structures and future content expansion.

Technical SEO Implementation:

• Handle technical SEO elements such as: Proper indexing controls, XML sitemaps, Canonical tags, Structured data
• Ensure compatibility with SEO tools (e.g., RankMath, Yoast etc.)
• Collaboration with Our Digital Marketing Management Team
• Work closely with the SEO strategist to implement recommendations
• Provide input on technical feasibility of technical SEO strategies
• Participate in audits and continuous optimization of our web assets.

(Bonus) AI Integration:

• Experience integrating AI tools (chatbots, automation, or APIs) is a plus
• Understanding how AI-generated search impacts content structure is an advantage.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years experience in WordPress development
• Strong understanding of: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP
• Experience with lightweight themes/builders (e.g., Astra, GeneratePress, Elementor with restraint)
• Solid knowledge of: Web Development with conversion in mind, Website performance and technical optimization
• Ability to build mobile-first, responsive designs What We’re Really Looking For
• A developer who thinks beyond code
• Someone who understands that: Design affects conversions, Structure affects rankings, Speed affects everything
• Someone who can build with minimal supervision from a strict Ai and search optimization perspective.

Nice to Have (Not Mandatory):

• Experience with headless WordPress or modern frameworks
• Basic understanding of AI tools or automation
• Experience with CRO (conversion rate optimization).
