Job Title: Golang Backend Developer

Location: Maryland, Lagos

About the Role

• They are seeking a skilled Golang Backend Developer.
• The suitable candidate must demonstrate strong proficiency in Go (Golang) and JavaScript and will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the core backend infrastructure that powers systems and applications across flagship brands and subsidiaries.
• The role involves working closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to support system architecture decisions, ensure scalability and performance, and provide technical guidance to the development team where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement
• Contribute to the architectural design of software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and frameworks to meet project requirements
• Conduct regular code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards and best practices
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to develop and execute comprehensive test plans
• Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to deliver optimal solutions
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing regular project updates
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues to maintain system integrity
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical production issues
• Write reports and conduct development tests
• Conceive and implement concepts, guidelines, and strategies for various creative projects
• Periodically review and advise Tech Line Management on customer insights, market, and industry trends
• Provide staff leadership, mentoring, and inspiration to drive change and build team spirit

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with 2–3 years of experience
• Proficiency in Go (Golang), Node.js, Java, or Python
• Experience designing and building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
• Strong understanding of application architecture and system design
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and session management
• Experience building scalable and secure backend services
• Ability to translate UI/UX designs into clean, functional interfaces
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 per month.
