Duties
Commitment to creating a positive and balanced learning environment:
- Foster and maintain a positive, disciplined, and respectful learning environment.
- Develop and submit lesson plans in line with the IB framework and course guidelines in a timely manner.
- Deliver instruction aligned with the IITA School’s curriculum, policies, and standards.
- Demonstrate adequate preparation through effective use of teaching resources and materials.
- Differentiate lessons to accommodate diverse abilities and learning styles.
- Clearly communicate lesson objectives and provide opportunities for student reflection and self-evaluation.
- Promote teamwork and collaborative learning among students.
- Design and deliver engaging, relevant, and student-centered lessons.
- Effectively implement prescribed curricula while incorporating additional teaching resources and activities.
- Integrate opportunities to promote intercultural understanding within lessons.
- Maintain a well-organized, stimulating, and visually appealing teaching environment.
- Ensure student work is appropriately displayed and updated regularly.
- Encourage independent learning among students.
- Collaborate with and effectively utilize additional staff in lesson planning and delivery.
- Prepare and provide appropriate cover work in the event of absence.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with students.
- Build and sustain cooperative and professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and students.
- Deliver a teaching load of up to 25 out of 30 lessons per week, as assigned.
Assessment of students’ academic development and well-being:
- Assess new students, where required, and recommend appropriate levels of support.
- Continuously evaluate student progress using a variety of assessment methods.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress to support final assessments.
- Communicate promptly with parents regarding concerns that may impact students’ academic performance.
- Complete all school requirements for assessment and record-keeping in a timely manner.
- Monitor and document students’ well-being, reporting any significant concerns as required.
Commitment to reflection and improvement of personal practice:
- Participate in the teacher evaluation programme.
- Engage in peer observation activities to support professional growth.
- Proactively seek opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and stay updated on current educational practices.
- Attend and actively participate in in-house training, external courses, and professional conferences.
Contribution to School Community:
- Actively contribute to school improvement initiatives.
- Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues.
- Attend and meaningfully contribute to all required meetings.
- Perform assigned supervisory duties, including break-time supervision.
- Support and contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programmes.
- Promote parental engagement and participation in school activities, including Parent–Teacher events.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of school policies and respond effectively to routine parent inquiries.
Requirements
Qualification:
- BSc Degree in English Language Education or related field with a teaching qualification and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in international teaching school approved by an international schools association or body (e.g IBO, CIE, AISEN, COBIS, COIS, AISA).
- Possession of Teaching qualification recognised by TRCN or additional qualifications from International organizations (e.g. CIE, IBO) is an added advantage.

- Have proven experience in lesson planning and student assessment.
