Job Title: Registered Nurse

Description
- The School Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive health care services to students, promoting a healthy and safe learning environment, and supporting the overall well-being of students.
- This includes supervising student hygiene, providing minor counseling services, and collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure students' physical and emotional needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
Health Care Services:
- Provide first aid and medical care for students who are injured or ill during school hours.
- Conduct health assessments, screenings, and monitoring of students with chronic health conditions.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with school policies.
- Maintain accurate health records for all students.
Student Hygiene Supervision:
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure students maintain good personal hygiene, including but not limited to nail cleanliness, hair care, and general body hygiene.
- Identify any signs of neglect or issues that require parental or guardian intervention.
- Develop and implement health education programs to promote good hygiene practices among students.
Minor Counseling Duties:
- Provide basic counseling and support to students dealing with emotional, social, or health-related issues.
- Refer students to appropriate professionals (e.g., school counselors, psychologists) when necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to identify and address student well-being concerns.
Health Education and Promotion:
- Develop and implement health education programs for students, staff, and parents.
- Promote healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention strategies.
- Stay updated on current health trends and best practices in school nursing.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure the health and well-being of students.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and healthcare providers regarding student health issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal requirements regarding student health information.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license
- Experience working with children and adolescents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
