Job Title: Physics Teacher
Location: Area 1, Garki, Abuja (FCT)

Description
- A secondary education Physics teacher instructs students on energy, matter, and physical laws, preparing lessons, managing labs, and assessing progress.
- Key duties include delivering engaging curriculum, conducting safe experiments, fostering critical thinking, and maintaining student records.
- They require a Bachelor's degree in Physics or Education and teaching certification.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Instruction: Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans for topics such as mechanics, electricity, and thermodynamics, tailored to diverse student abilities.
- Laboratory Management: Oversee laboratory experiments, ensuring safety protocols are followed while using scientific equipment and technology.
- Assessment: Create, administer, and grade assignments, tests, and exams, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Engagement: Foster a positive, stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for physical science.
- Student Support: Identify and support student needs through personalized attention and collaboration with other educators.
- Administration: Maintain student records (attendance, grades) and participate in parent-teacher meetings and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Physics or a related science field is required, often with a teaching certificate or license.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Strong knowledge of physics principles and practical application.
- Communication: Ability to break down complex scientific concepts for adolescent learners.
- Classroom Management: Proven ability to manage a safe and respectful classroom environment.
Key Competencies:
- Pedagogical Skills: Proficient in various teaching techniques (lecture, demonstration, hands-on experiments).
- Technology Proficiency: Experience with computer simulations, digital tools, and interactive whiteboards.
- Commitment to Safeguarding: A commitment to student welfare and safety.
Additional:
- This role often reports to a Head of Department or school administrator and may include supervising extracurricular activities, such as science fairs.
