Job Title: Cargo / Logistics Team Lead
Location: Lagos Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time
Role Summary
- We are hiring for our client, an experienced Cargo / Logistics Team Lead to manage and grow their cargo and courier operations.
- The role involves overseeing daily cargo activities, improving processes, ensuring timely deliveries, and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise end-to-end cargo operations (documentation, handling, transit, and delivery).
- Ensure proper packaging, storage, and safe handling of shipments.
- Monitor operations across terminals to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Drive cargo sales and achieve revenue targets.
- Develop pricing strategies and attract new business opportunities.
- Improve operational processes and implement SOPs.
- Coordinate last-mile delivery with partners and in-house teams.
- Track shipments and ensure customers receive timely updates.
- Handle issues related to delays, loss, or damaged cargo.
- Prepare and present performance reports.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Meet or exceed cargo revenue targets.
- Maintain at least 95% on-time delivery rate.
- Keep cargo damage/loss below 1%.
- Ensure full compliance with operational procedures.
- Ensure all cargo documentation is completed on time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related fields
- 5 - 7 years’ experience in logistics, cargo, or courier operations.
- Strong knowledge of cargo handling and delivery processes.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial mindset with ability to grow revenue.
- Experience in transport or courier services is an added advantage.
