Job Title: ICT Officer

Location: Area 1, Garki - Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Part-time

Description

• An ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Officer manages, maintains, and secures an organization’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
• They provide technical support to users, troubleshoot system issues, implement security protocols, and assist in procurement and strategic technology planning to improve business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain servers, computers, printers, and network devices (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi).
• Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance to staff regarding hardware, software, and networking issues.
• System Security: Implement security measures such as firewalls and antivirus software to protect data.
• Asset Management: Maintain an inventory of software licenses and IT hardware, ensuring compliance and tracking life cycles.
• Website/System Maintenance: Oversee website functionality, database maintenance, and email system performance.
• Training & Documentation: Train employees on new technology and maintain documentation of ICT policies.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Windows/macOS, Microsoft 365, networking protocols, and Cybersecurity principles.
• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.
• Experience: Usually requires 1-5 years of experience in IT support or administration.
• Certification: Certifications such as Cisco (CCNA), Microsoft (MCSA), or CompTIA are frequently desired.

Work Environment:

• ICT Officers typically work in offices, schools, or remote field offices, managing digital infrastructure and ensuring high uptime for connectivity and communication systems.
