Job Title: Content Strategist
Location: Lagos

Job Summary
- This role is not just about writing or social media management.
- It is about designing a content system that converts specialist knowledge into influence, authority, and commercial opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Architecture:
- Design and implement a firm-wide content strategy aligned with business development goals
- Develop content pillars across key themes (e.g., regulation, transactions, compliance, sector insights, market trends)
- Build structured content frameworks (long-form, short-form, visual, and multimedia/video formats)
- Ensure consistency of messaging across all channels and practice areas
Translation of Technical Expertise:
- Work closely with consultants and subject-matter experts to extract insights
- Translate complex legal and regulatory concepts into clear, business-relevant language
- Reframe technical content into:
- Founder-focused insights
- Investor guidance
- Risk and opportunity narratives
- Ensure all content answers: “So what does this mean for the client?”
Content Production Oversight
- Lead the transformation of raw expert input into publishable content
- Edit and refine long-form articles, thought leadership pieces, and reports
- Create multiple content formats from a single idea:
- Articles
- LinkedIn posts
- Carousels
- Newsletters
- Short explainers
- Collaborate with designers and video editors where required
Narrative Development & Positioning
- Build consistent storytelling frameworks around key practice areas
- Develop “content series” rather than isolated publications
- Position the firm as a thought leader in key sectors
- Ensure content reflects commercial relevance, not just academic analysis
Distribution & Growth Strategy:
- Develop and manage content distribution across LinkedIn, newsletters, and digital platforms
- Optimise content for engagement and reach (hooks, structure, format, timing)
- Repurpose content across channels for maximum visibility
- Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, inbound leads, conversions)
Audience Strategy:
- Segment content for different audiences:
- Founders and startups
- Investors and venture capital firms
- Corporate clients
- Regulators and policymakers
- Tailor tone, depth, and format based on audience type
Internal Capability Building:
- Train internal experts on how to contribute effectively to content creation
- Develop systems for capturing insights from client work and transactions
- Build repeatable processes for content generation across teams
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years in content strategy, editorial roles, or professional services marketing
- Strong ability to simplify complex subject matter (legal, financial, regulatory, or technical content preferred)
- Experience working with senior professionals or subject-matter experts
- Excellent writing and editing skills across multiple formats
- Strong understanding of LinkedIn and B2B digital distribution
- Ability to think in systems, not just individual pieces of content
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in law, consulting, finance, fintech, or policy environments
- Background in journalism, strategic communications, or content marketing
- Understanding of African or emerging market business environments
- Strong commercial mindset (content tied to business outcomes, not vanity metrics)
- Ability to operate independently in a high-performance professional environment
- Familiarity and competence in using the relevant content strategy applications.
Salary
N300,000 - N400,000 per month.
