Job Summary
- The Centrifugal Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting centrifugal machines and rotating equipment to ensure efficient and reliable production operations.
- The role includes the design support, analysis, and mechanical maintenance of components and systems in line with DSR’s engineering and safety standards.
- The technician ensures system-level performance that balances cost, manufacturability, reliability, and equipment lifespan while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operational & Technical Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine operation, monitoring, and maintenance of industrial centrifuges and related rotating equipment.
- Review samples, drawings, work orders, and technical instructions to accurately interpret engineering specifications.
- Perform mechanical system analyses, diagnostics, and corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Lead and manage mechanical maintenance tasks using automation and control systems.
- Ensure proper alignment, balancing, and functionality of centrifuges, pumps, motors, and auxiliary components.
Maintenance & Reliability:
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules.
- Conduct site inspections, equipment condition monitoring, and fault detection on centrifugal units.
- Participate in equipment upgrades, commissioning, testing, and optimization exercises.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and recommend engineering improvements to enhance performance.
Project & Team Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and supervise mechanical engineering tasks relating to centrifuge operations.
- Work with engineers and technicians to ensure timely execution of maintenance programs.
- Support recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and performance review of junior technicians (where applicable).
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive reliability, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
Compliance, Safety & Quality:
- Ensure all work complies with quality standards, technical procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere strictly to Occupational Safety, Health and Assessment Series (OSHAS) and DIL safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation for maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment history.
- Promote a safe workplace by identifying hazards and enforcing safety best practices.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
Experience:
- 7–15+ years’ hands‑on experience in mechanical systems maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Minimum of 5 years in senior or supervisory roles.
- Strong exposure to utilities and rotating equipment, including boilers, compressors, centrifuges, and pumps.
Competencies & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of centrifugal equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals.
- Familiarity with automation systems and mechanical control systems.
- High level of safety consciousness and adherence to engineering best practices.
Work Environment:
- Industrial/manufacturing refinery environment.
- Frequent exposure to rotating machinery, heat, and high‑noise areas (proper PPE required).
- May require shift work, weekend duties, and emergency response depending on operational needs.
