Job Title: Backend Developer (PHP Laravel)

Location: Garki, Abuja (FCT)

Job Overview

• We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with proficiency in PHP and Laravel, with some experience in DevOps, to join our dynamic team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining our backend services, ensuring robust and scalable solutions that align with our project goals.

Key Responsibilities
Backend Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Laravel
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Implement and maintain APIs for seamless integration with various identity management systems.

System Integration:

• Work closely with other technology providers to integrate biometric and identity verification technologies into our platform.
• Ensure seamless integration and upscaling of the existing NIMC identity system.

Data Security & Efficiency:

• Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent data leaks.
• Optimize backend systems for maximum efficiency and reliability.

DevOps:

• Assist in managing CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment processes.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the infrastructure to maintain system health and performance.

Documentation & Best Practices:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of the backend codebase, APIs, and system architecture.
• Adhere to industry best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience:

• 4 years of proven experience as a backend developer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Experience in identity management systems and biometric technologies is a plus.
• Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is desirable.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in PHP Laravel
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Familiarity with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Knowledge of security best practices in software development.
