Job Title: Digital Content & Community Manager
Location: Maryland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilties
Content Creation & Scheduling:
- Develop and execute a consistent content calendar across all relevant social media platforms, aligned with event timelines and marketing objectives.
- Write compelling, on-brand copy for posts, captions, stories, reels, etc. on all digital touchpoints
- Brief the designer on visual content requirements, providing clear direction on messaging, tone, and creative intent
- Review and approve all content for brand consistency, accuracy, and quality before publishing
- Repurpose event content — highlights, testimonials, behind-the-scenes moments — into evergreen digital assets
Community Management:
- Manage all community channels including social media inboxes, comment sections, WhatsApp broadcast lists, and any owned community platforms
- Respond to direct messages, comments, and enquiries in a timely, warm, and on-brand manner
- Monitor audience sentiment and flag recurring feedback, concerns, or trends to the wider team
- Foster genuine connection and loyalty within the community through consistent, meaningful engagement
- Grow the audience organically through strategic engagement, collaborations, and community-driven campaigns
Live Event Social Media Coverage:
- Lead real-time social media coverage during events, capturing and publishing content that brings the live experience to audiences online
- Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and the wider content team on event day to ensure a steady flow of high-quality assets
- Publish live updates, stories, and reels during events to maximise reach and engagement in real time
- Manage any event-specific hashtags, geotags, and digital activations to drive audience participation
Audience Growth & Engagement Strategy:
- Develop and implement pre- and post-event digital campaigns to build anticipation, drive ticket sales, and sustain audience interest between events
- Identify and engage relevant influencers, brand advocates, and community voices to amplify event reach
- Track and analyse content performance metrics and translate insights into actionable improvements
- Contribute to post-event reports with digital performance data including reach, engagement, follower growth, and sentiment
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field
- 3 – 5 years of experience in social media management, digital content creation, or community management
- Proven experience managing social media for events, lifestyle brands, or entertainment-focused organizations.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating content creation across multiple platforms
- Experience with live event social media coverage is a strong advantage
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent copywriting skills with a strong sense of tone, voice, and audience
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and content best practices
- Strong visual sensibility and ability to brief and collaborate effectively with designers
- Ability to read analytics and draw meaningful insights
- Highly organised with the ability to manage a content calendar across multiple events simultaneously
- Energetic, personable, and genuinely passionate about community building
- Proficient in social media management tools, Canva or Adobe Suite (basic), and analytics platforms.
