Job Title: Community Learning Cordinator (Gateway Program)

Job Summary

  • The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) invites applications from qualified, passionate, and results-driven professionals for the position of Community Learning Coordinator under its GATEWAY Program.
  • This role is ideal for individuals committed to youth development, community engagement, and inclusive learning, particularly for marginalized groups and young women.

Job Purpose

  • The Community Learning Coordinator will support the implementation of community learning initiatives within the GATEWAY Program. The role focuses on fostering active participation, peer-to-peer collaboration, and access to learning resources among program beneficiaries.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with participants—especially marginalized youth and young women—to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment that promotes growth, empowerment, and success. Support will be delivered both physically and virtually.

Key Responsibilities
Community Learning Facilitation:

  • Facilitate community-based learning initiatives, webinars, peer learning, and mentorship sessions.
  • Organize and moderate physical and virtual learning forums to encourage knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Build strong relationships with participants to understand their learning goals and guide them toward relevant program resources.

Participant Engagement and Support:

  • Maintain consistent communication with participants via digital platforms and engagement channels.
  • Monitor participation levels and implement targeted strategies to support less active learners.
  • Facilitate access to peer mentoring and other learning support systems within the program.

Community Culture and Inclusion

  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative community environment.
  • Foster a strong sense of belonging among participants.
  • Serve as a point of contact for feedback related to Gender, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (GDEI).
  • Provide insights and feedback to the Community Manager on participant needs and engagement strategies.

Communication and Feedback:

  • Document and share at least two compelling participant impact stories monthly**.
  • Lead at least one community event or collaborative activity per quarter**.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and learning outcomes.
  • Support Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) processes through data collection and reporting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and other assigned tasks.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Communications, Community Development, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in community engagement, learning facilitation, or youth-focused programs.
  • Experience working with underserved or marginalized groups is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing learning communities or peer support groups is an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse groups of young people.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital tools such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Google Workspace, and Zoom.
  • Strong passion for youth development, gender inclusion, and social impact.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
