Job Summary

• The Senior Treasury Officer will manage the bank's day-to-day treasury operations, ensuring optimal liquidity, sound cash management, and effective asset-liability positioning.
• This role plays a critical function in sustaining the financial health and regulatory liquidity compliance of the bank.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the bank's daily cash position, liquidity gaps, and interbank placements.
• Monitor and maintain the bank's liquidity ratios in compliance with CBN minimum requirements.
• Execute money market transactions including call placements, fixed deposits, and interbank borrowings.
• Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly treasury reports to management.
• Support the preparation of the bank's Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) reports and attend ALCO meetings.
• Monitor and track the cost of funds, investment yields, and overall portfolio performance.
• Maintain relationships with correspondent banks and counterparty financial institutions.
• Support FX transactions and foreign currency liquidity management where applicable.
• Assist in the preparation of CBN cash reserve ratio (CRR) returns and liquidity ratio computations.
• Identify and flag treasury risks including interest rate, liquidity, and counterparty risks.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of a first degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of treasury operations experience within a bank or financial institution.
• Sound knowledge of money market instruments, interbank transactions, and liquidity management.
• Proficiency in treasury management systems and core banking platforms.
• Professional qualification: ICAN, ACCA, ACI Diploma in Treasury, or CIBN qualification preferred.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and financial modelling skills.
• Good understanding of CBN liquidity regulations and ALCO reporting requirements.
