TAAS Group of School is a school made up of Nursery, Primary and Secondary school. The school's academic programme is divided into two sections: Quran and Arabic section which is handled by specific teachers and the western Educational section handle by different teachers.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chemistry / Science Teacher

Location: Omi-Apata, Ibadan - Oyo

Description

  • We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Chemistry & Science Teacher to join our faculty.
  • You will teach core chemistry courses and may also support instruction in biology, physics, or integrated science, depending on your background and departmental needs.
  • You'll bring curiosity and rigor to the classroom, foster a lab-safe environment, and help students develop critical scientific thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in Chemistry (required) and one or more additional science disciplines
  • Design and supervise safe laboratory experiences aligned with curriculum standards
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including advanced and struggling students
  • Track and communicate student progress through grades, written feedback, and parent/guardian conferences
  • Collaborate with the Science Department on curriculum development, scope & sequence, and cross-disciplinary projects
  • Maintain lab equipment, safety materials, and chemical inventories in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines
  • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and extracurricular programs as requested
  • Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to assigned students.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, a related science, or Science Education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of chemistry content at the secondary level.
  • Experience managing a high school laboratory environment safely and effectively
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of classroom teaching experience
  • Experience with project-based or inquiry learning
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or a similar LMS.
