Job Title: Human Resource Manager (Trucking, Trailer & Logistics Operations)

Location: Apapa, Lagos

About the Role

  • Our client is looking for a seasoned HR Manager who understands the pace, pressure, and people dynamics unique to the trucking, logistics, and manufacturing distribution world.
  • This is a senior leadership role where you will serve as a true business partner to operations, helping us hire the right people, keep them engaged, and ensure every aspect of our workforce management is compliant, efficient, and forward-thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for drivers, dispatchers, warehouse staff, and corporate roles
  • Manage onboarding, compliance, and regulatory documentation
  • Develop and implement retention strategies to reduce high driver turnover
  • Oversee performance management and disciplinary procedures across all departments
  • Partner with operations leadership to align HR strategy with fleet and logistics goals
  • Administer benefits, payroll coordination, and employee relations
  • Champion a safety-first culture across the entire organization
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Maintain pay plan and benefits program
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3 years of HR management experience in trucking, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution
  • Solid understanding of DOT regulations, CDL requirements, and driver compliance
  • Proven record of reducing turnover in high-volume, shift-based environments
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and multi-state compliance
  • Experience with HRIS systems and workforce planning tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification preferred.

Important:

  • Candidates must have prior HR experience specifically within trucking, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, or a closely related industrial operations environment.
