Purpose Statement
- We are seeking highly driven and result-oriented Sales Officers to drive customer acquisition, deposit mobilization, and loan disbursement for our microfinance bank in Dawakin Kudu.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, onboarding customers, and meeting aggressive sales targets while maintaining strong portfolio quality.
- This role requires individuals who are field-oriented, target-driven, and deeply familiar with the local market and customer segments within Kano State.
Responsibilities
Customer Acquisition & Business Development:
- Identify, prospect, and onboard new customers (individuals and SMEs).
- Drive aggressive deposit mobilization and loan disbursement.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
- Expand the bank’s customer base within Dawakin Kudu and surrounding areas.
Sales Target Execution:
- Own and achieve assigned monthly sales targets (deposits, loans, and revenue).
- Consistently meet or exceed performance benchmarks.
- Maintain daily activity tracking and reporting of sales efforts.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Provide ongoing support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities based on customer needs.
Credit & Loan Origination:
- Source quality loan opportunities in line with the bank’s credit policy.
- Conduct basic customer assessments and documentation.
- Ensure proper onboarding and complete credit documentation.
- Monitor loan performance and follow up on repayments.
Risk & Portfolio Quality Management:
- Ensure high-quality loan bookings with minimal default risk.
- Monitor customer accounts and flag early warning signs.
- Support recovery efforts for overdue accounts.
- Maintain a healthy loan portfolio (low PAR/NPL levels).
Market Intelligence & Community Engagement:
- Understand local market dynamics, customer behavior, and competition.
- Build a strong presence within the community and business clusters.
- Identify emerging opportunities and provide market feedback.

Requirements
- Candidates should possess an OND / HND / Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience strictly within a Microfinance Bank (MFB) in a sales or business development role.
- Proven track record in deposit mobilization and loan origination within a microfinance environment.
- Strong understanding of local markets, SMEs, and informal sector dynamics in Kano State.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed aggressive sales targets.
- Basic knowledge of credit assessment and risk management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated, target-driven, and field-oriented.
- Must reside in Kano State, preferably within or around Dawakin Kudu and its environs.
