Job Title: Executive Assistant / Legal Officer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Executive Assistant / Legal Officer provides strategic administrative and legal support to senior executives, ensuring efficient management of executive operations while safeguarding the Company’s legal and regulatory interests.
  • This role requires a highly experienced professional with a strong background in corporate law, executive support, governance, and confidentiality management, capable of operating at the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
  • The role interfaces directly with top executives, external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders, and plays a critical role in decision support, risk management, and corporate compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Executive Support (Strategic Level):

  • Provide high-level administrative and operational support to the GMD and senior leadership
  • Manage complex calendars, executive schedules, and priority alignment
  • Coordinate executive meetings, board sessions, and strategic engagements
  • Prepare executive briefs, reports, presentations, and confidential correspondence
  • Serve as a liaison between executives and internal/external stakeholders
  • Track key deliverables and follow-ups across departments on behalf of leadership
  • Manage sensitive information with strict confidentiality and discretion

Legal Advisory & Compliance:

  • Provide legal support on corporate, commercial, and operational matters
  • Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, MOUs, NDAs, and legal documents
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards
  • Monitor legal risks and advise management on mitigation strategies
  • Support regulatory filings and interface with relevant authorities
  • Maintain and update legal documentation and company records

Corporate Governance:

  • Support the implementation of governance frameworks and policies
  • Coordinate board documentation, resolutions, and minutes
  • Ensure adherence to statutory obligations and internal policies
  • Assist in developing and enforcing compliance procedures

Contract & Risk Management:

  • Review commercial agreements to identify legal and financial risks
  • Ensure all contracts align with company policies and legal standards
  • Maintain contract repository and ensure proper documentation control
  • Provide guidance on dispute resolution and escalation where necessary

Stakeholder & External Relations:

  • Interface with external legal counsel, regulators, auditors, and partners
  • Represent executive office in professional engagements where required
  • Manage communication on behalf of leadership with high-level stakeholders

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B); BL (Call to Bar) is mandatory
  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in legal practice and/or executive support
  • Proven experience working with senior executives or C-suite leadership
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory.

Salary
N400,000 - N450,000 per month.
