Job Description
- The Medical Officer is responsible for providing high-quality medical care by diagnosing, treating, and managing patients in line with established clinical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical examinations and assess patients’ health conditions
- Diagnose illnesses and prescribe appropriate treatments and medications
- Manage both outpatient and inpatient care
- Perform minor medical procedures where necessary
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families
- Respond to medical emergencies promptly and effectively
- Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare staff
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, and government regulations
Qualifications and Requirements
- Candidates should possess an MBBS with a minimum of 3 years post-NYSC clinical experience (preferred)
- Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
- Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
- Current practicing license.
