Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transport Mechanic to join our team in Epe, Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of commercial and fleet vehicles. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and minimal downtime across transportation and logistics activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, and engine faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Perform repairs and replacements on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, brakes, steering components, and electrical systems.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, tyre servicing, inspections, and fluid checks.
• Carry out major repairs and overhauls on trucks, buses, trailers, and other fleet vehicles.
• Perform safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory standards before vehicles are cleared for operation.
• Handle on-site repairs and emergency breakdowns when required.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and work orders.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with fleet managers and operations teams to ensure vehicle availability and performance.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, with technical training in automotive or diesel mechanics.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in truck or fleet vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Strong knowledge of diesel and petrol engines, heavy-duty vehicle systems, and air brake systems.
• Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair manuals.
• Basic welding skills and ability to read technical schematics is an added advantage.
• Good problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding workshop and field environments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to safety standards and procedures.

Salary and Benefits

• N300,000 - N500,000 / Month.
