Job Title: Indian / Chinese Chef

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chinese/Indian Chef to prepare authentic dishes, maintain high food quality standards, and support kitchen operations.
  • The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of traditional recipes, modern presentation techniques, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of authentic Chinese and/or Indian dishes in line with established recipes and standards.
  • Develop new menu items, specials, and seasonal dishes to enhance customer experience.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning of all meals served.
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff involved in food preparation and cooking.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels, control food costs, and minimize wastage.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients, including spices, meats, and perishables.
  • Collaborate with management on menu planning, pricing, and procurement of ingredients.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.
  • Ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders during peak service periods.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should possess an SSCE / OND with 2-5 years experience.
  • Proven experience as a Chinese Chef, Indian Chef, or similar role in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
  • Strong knowledge of Chinese or Indian cuisine, including regional specialties.
  • Ability to use traditional cooking methods (e.g., wok cooking, tandoor, spice blending).
  • Good leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle high-volume service.
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Culinary certification or relevant training is an added advantage.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

N160,000 - N200,000 / Month.
