We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: IP / Senior Engineer

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos Island - Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The IP / Senior Engineer (Switching) is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and support of the organization’s IP network and switching infrastructure.
• The role requires deep technical expertise in routing and switching technologies, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of network services.

Key Responsibilities
Network Design & Implementation:

• Design and deploy scalable IP network and switching solutions to support business operations.
• Configure and integrate Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching infrastructure.
• Support network expansion, upgrades, and new site deployments.

Network Operations & Support:

• Monitor network performance and ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues (L2/L3, VLANs, STP, routing protocols, etc.).
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

Switching & Routing Management:

• Manage core, distribution, and access layer switches.
• Configure and maintain routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and static routing.
• Implement VLAN segmentation, trunking, and redundancy protocols (e.g., HSRP/VRRP).

Performance Optimization:

• Analyze network traffic and optimize performance for efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure QoS policies are implemented and maintained for critical services.

Network Security:

• Implement network security best practices including ACLs, port security, and segmentation.
• Support firewall and intrusion prevention integrations where required.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation.
• Provide regular reports on network performance, incidents, and improvements.

Collaboration & Support:

• Work closely with NOC, field engineers, and other technical teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support cross-functional projects and initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5–8 years relevant experience in IP networking and switching.
• Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of switching technologies (Cisco, Huawei, MikroTik, etc.).
• Proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Experience with VLANs, STP, VTP, trunking, and redundancy protocols.
• Knowledge of MPLS, VPNs, and IP addressing schemes.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).
• Understanding of network security principles.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Team player with leadership and mentoring capability.
