We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Facility Manager

Location: Abuja (FCT) 
Reports to: MD/Operations Manager
Direct Reports: None

Main Functions

  • The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management, maintenance, and optimization of the fashion house’s physical environment, ensuring a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing space that supports production, retail, and administrative operations.
  • The role ensures that all facilities—including ateliers, showrooms, offices, and storage areas—are well-maintained, compliant with safety standards, and aligned with the brand’s image.
  • The Facility Manager will manage vendors, supervise maintenance activities, and implement systems that enhance efficiency, safety, and overall operational excellence.

Role Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance:

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all physical spaces including ateliers, showrooms, offices, and storage areas.
  • Ensure all equipment, utilities, and infrastructure (electricity, water, HVAC, lighting) are functioning efficiently.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues proactively.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure the facility reflects the brand’s aesthetic and operational standards at all times.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and enforce safety procedures and emergency response plans.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments across all facility areas.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials, fabrics, and equipment.
  • Maintain records of safety checks, incidents, and compliance requirements.

Vendor & Contractor Management:

  • Manage relationships with service providers (cleaning, security, maintenance, waste disposal, etc.).
  • Source, negotiate, and oversee third-party contractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
  • Approve and track maintenance and service-related expenses.

Space & Asset Management:

  • Manage allocation and utilization of workspace for design, production, and administrative teams.
  • Oversee inventory of facility-related assets including furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage systems for fabrics, tools, and finished products.
  • Support layout planning to optimize workflow and productivity.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

  • Develop and manage the facility management budget.
  • Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Prepare reports on facility performance, costs, and improvement plans.

Operational Support:

  • Support fashion shows, photoshoots, client visits, and special events by ensuring facility readiness.
  • Coordinate logistics for internal operations and external engagements.
  • Work closely with design, production, and retail teams to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Estate Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in facility management, preferably in a fashion house, retail, or creative environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and facility budgets.
  • Familiarity with workplace design and space optimization is an advantage.
