Job Function
- Responsible for leading and optimizing the organization's procurement processes.
- This role combines technical expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management to ensure efficient procurement of goods and services.
- The Procurement Manager plays a pivotal role in achieving cost savings, mitigating risks, and enhancing the overall efficiency of the procurement function.
Key Performance Areas:
Strategic Sourcing:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to secure cost-effective and high-quality goods and services.
- Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favorable terms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals.
Contract Negotiation:
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, including pricing, payment, and delivery terms.
- Draft and review contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to address contractual issues and ensure contract adherence.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize performance, quality, and delivery.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews to ensure alignment with contractual agreements.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers, fostering a competitive and diverse supplier base.
Cost Management:
- Implement cost management strategies to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis for procurement decisions, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Monitor and analyze market trends to anticipate and mitigate cost fluctuations.
Risk Mitigation:
- Identify and assess risks associated with procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions and supplier financial stability.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the continuity of supply.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to address and resolve potential risks.
Procurement Policies and Compliance:
- Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to verify compliance with established procurement processes.
- Collaborate with finance and legal teams to address any compliance issues.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize data analytics tools to analyze procurement trends, supplier performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.
Requirements
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience and Skills Required:
- 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the logistics
- Proven experience in procurement and strategic sourcing.
- Familiarity with procurement software and data analytics tools.
