Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Nigeria

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with applicable standards
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled
- Develop budgets, monitor performance against targets, and provide financial forecasts to support decision-making
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheel items, and key accounts
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting standards, and statutory requirements
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit queries
- Handle tax filings, VAT returns, and other statutory obligations accurately and on time
- Implement and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets and prevent errors or fraud
- Monitor cash flow, manage liquidity, and ensure optimal use of financial resources
- Provide insights on financial performance, trends, and variances to support strategic decisions
- Utilize accounting systems and tools efficiently to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
- Work closely with management and other departments to provide financial guidance and support.
Qualifications, Experience and Skill
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • Applicants with outstanding academic performance are highly preferred
- Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent is required
- A Master's degree (MBA or MSc in Finance/Accounting) is an added advantage
- Minimum of 8-10 years progressive experience in accounting or finance in FMCG or multinational environment • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strong background in general ledger management and account reconciliation
- Experience in tax planning, compliance, and statutory reporting
- Familiarity with internal controls, audit processes, and risk management.
