We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Occupational Health Officer

Location: Ughelli, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a competent and proactive Occupational Health Officer to support the delivery of occupational health services within the hospital.
  • The role involves providing clinical care, conducting workplace health assessments, and promoting employee well-being through preventive and monitoring initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to staff and clients within the Occupational Health unit
  • Conduct basic clinical and diagnostic investigations (e.g., ECG, audiometry, vital signs monitoring)
  • Provide first aid and emergency care where required
  • Carry out periodic health screenings and fitness-to-work assessments
  • Maintain accurate medical records, reports, and incident documentation
  • Monitor workplace health risks and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Drive health promotion initiatives and staff awareness programs
  • Support compliance with occupational health and safety standards and regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physiology or Registered Nurse (RN/RM) with a valid license
  • Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH)
  • Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in occupational health or clinical practice
  • Experience conducting diagnostic tests, such as ECG and audiometry, is an added advantage

  • Strong clinical and assessment skills
  • Good knowledge of occupational health practices
  • Excellent documentation and reporting ability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

Working Conditions:

  • Hospital-based role with occasional exposure to clinical and diagnostic environments
  • May require flexibility for shift or emergency response coverage.
