Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer with solid experience in industrial maintenance and production environments.
• The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and troubleshooting of industrial equipment within FMCG or manufacturing settings.
• Candidates with experience from companies such as WAMCO (Peak Milk) and Promasidor (Cowbell) will be given high preference.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) on all mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults in production machinery
• Maintain and service equipment including:
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Gearboxes and conveying systems
• Pumps and machine fittings
• Fillers and packaging machines
• Can plant and processing equipment
• Powder plants and mayonnaise production lines
• Monitor equipment performance and implement improvement strategies
• Ensure minimal downtime through effective maintenance planning
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain maintenance logs and technical documentation
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
• Support installation and commissioning of new machines.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 4 years’ hands-on experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment
• Strong experience in Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)
• Practical knowledge of:
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Industrial gear systems and conveyors
• Packaging and filling machines
• Processing and production equipment
• Experience working in food processing, dairy, or beverage production is an added advantage
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Candidates:

• Candidates with experience from WAMCO (Peak Milk) and Promasidor (Cowbell) are highly preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years
• Experience in high-speed production environments.

Salary
Open to negotiation.
