Job Title: Chief Operating Officer

Location: Jabi, Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

• J.A.K is looking for an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) with a strong Mechanical Engineering background and proven experience in gas plant operations.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily plant activities, ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and strategic growth of the gas plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for gas plant operations.
• Oversee mechanical engineering functions, maintenance, and plant performance.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the gas processing facility.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor plant performance and drive productivity improvements.
• Manage budgets, cost control, and resource allocation.
• Lead and mentor technical and operational teams.
• Prepare and present operational reports to executive management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in gas plant operations.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.
• Hands-on experience working in a gas processing or LPG plant is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of gas plant systems, equipment, and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Preferred Qualifications.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA).
• Professional certifications (e.g., COREN, NSE, PMP).
• Experience in plant setup, commissioning, and optimization.
