St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is a 64 bed hospital located in Ogungbade, off New Ife road Ibadan. St Dominic Catholic Hospital is the vision of the Dominican Sisters of St Catherine of Siena (Italy). We offer various medical services such as: General medicine, internal medicine, O & G, Laboratory, and Radiology, to mention just a few. The hospital is run in collaboration with foreign partners. We are registered and licensed by the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Health. Also, we are accredited by the NHIS as both primary and secondary healthcare providers.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Pharmacist to join our healthcare team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing professional guidance on the safe use of prescriptions, ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations, and supporting quality patient care within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently
  • Review prescriptions to ensure legality, appropriateness, and correct dosage
  • Provide patients with information on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage
  • Monitor patients’ drug therapies and advise on possible drug interactions
  • Maintain proper records of controlled substances and pharmaceutical stock
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of medications in compliance with standards
  • Supervise pharmacy assistants and support staff where necessary
  • Liaise with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient medication plans
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement of pharmaceutical supplies
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and hospital pharmacy policies
  • Participate in routine audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
  • Must be a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN)
  • Valid practicing license
  • Minimum of 2–3 years relevant work experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, dosage administration, and patient counseling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Good organizational and inventory management skills
  • Strong ethical standards and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in pharmacy management software is an added advantage
