Job Title: Head of Account

Locations: Abuja (FCT) & Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• A Head of Accounts (or Head Accountant)oversees all daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (GAAP, IFRS). They lead the accounting team, manage cash flow, prepare financial statements, and advise senior management on financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Controls:Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Implement internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations (e.g., CBN, GAAP).
• Operational Management:Oversee day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger operations.
• Audit & Tax Compliance:Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Budgeting & Analysis:Analyze financial data, monitor cash flow, and manage budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic decisions.
• Team Leadership:Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certification:CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is often required.
• Experience:Proven experience in a senior accounting role, preferably with experience in public accounting.
• Technical Skills:Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Soft Skills:Strong leadership, integrity, and analytical skills.
