Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Mainland, Lagos

Job Summary

  • Our client is seeking a results-driven and experienced candidates to lead the business development team, drive revenue growth, and expand the bank’s customer base.
  • The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, leading the business development team, and expanding the bank’s market presence.
  • The ideal candidate must have an existing portfolio, be highly target-driven, and possess strong leadership abilities to drive both individual and team performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the business development team to achieve set targets
  • Drive deposit mobilization and quality loan generation across assigned markets
  • Leverage existing portfolio to generate immediate business opportunities
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the bank’s customer base
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching to improve productivity
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high-value clients and stakeholders
  • Identify new market opportunities and drive business expansion initiatives
  • Ensure proper onboarding, documentation, and compliance with credit policies
  • Track and report on individual and team performance against targets
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • First degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field
  • 5–8 years’ experience in business development within a microfinance bank or financial institution
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets
  • Must have an existing and active client portfolio
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and relationship management abilities
  • Ability to drive both individual and team performance
  • Strong understanding of microfinance operations and credit processes.
