Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Officer to support our tax compliance and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will assist in ensuring adherence to tax regulations while contributing to accurate filings and documentation.
- This role is ideal for early-career professionals looking to grow their expertise in corporate taxation within a structured finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Filing:
- Assist in preparing and filing tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.)
- Ensure timely remittance of all tax obligations
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation
Audit & Support:
- Support during tax audits and regulatory reviews
- Assist in responding to tax queries and notices
- Monitor compliance with applicable tax laws
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare basic tax reports and schedules
- Maintain tax compliance calendar and deadlines
- Support reconciliation of tax accounts
Collaboration:
- Work with HR and Finance teams on payroll tax matters
- Support internal teams with tax-related information
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 2–5 years experience in tax, accounting, or audit
- Professional certification (CITN, ACA, or ACCA – in view or partly completed is an advantage)
- Basic knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools
