Job Summary

• PrintPress Limited is seeking a skilled Handyman / Woodwork Personnel to manage and oversee the woodwork department.
• The candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality wooden frames, plaques, and other decor items that complement our inspirational wall decor line and produce some unique furniture to specification.

Description

• The role involves hands-on craftsmanship, maintenance of woodworking tools and machinery, and ensuring that production meets both creative and technical standards.
• The ideal candidate should be versatile, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a small team within the department.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the woodwork department.
• Design, cut, assemble, and finish wooden frames, plaques, and decor items.
• Maintain woodworking tools, machines, and equipment.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to production standards.
• Collaborate with the design team to bring creative concepts to life.
• Supervise and train junior staff in woodworking techniques.
• Monitor stock of raw materials and request supplies when needed.

Requirements
Education:

• Technical certification or vocational training in carpentry / woodwork preferred.
• Secondary school education minimum; higher qualifications are an advantage.

Experience:

• 3–5 years of experience in woodworking or carpentry.
• Prior experience managing a workshop or production unit is desirable.

Other Requirements:

• Proven expertise in woodwork and carpentry.
• Ability to manage a department and lead a team.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
• Flexibility to adapt to creative and production demands.

Skills:

• Strong woodworking and carpentry skills.
• Ability to read and interpret design specifications.
• Knowledge of finishing techniques (painting, polishing, varnishing).
• Good organizational and leadership abilities.
• Problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Basic handyman skills for repairs and maintenance.
