Job Title: Supply Chain Procurement and Logistics Manager

Location: Lekki Free Zone, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting lines: Reports to Director of Operations

Job Summary

  • The Procurement and Logistics Manager is responsible for end-to-end material management for the production facility, including sourcing, procurement, inventory control, warehousing, and material flow to production. In the initial phase, the role will also oversee warehouse operations directly until a dedicated structure is established.
  • The role ensures material availability, cost control, inventory accuracy, and operational continuity, while working closely with the accounting firm to ensure proper financial tracking of inventory and procurement activities.
  • This is a hands-on, operational role critical to plant ramp-up, requiring strong coordination across procurement, logistics, production, and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage procurement of raw materials (including ITKM) and operational consumables.
  • Oversee end-to-end material flow, from supplier sourcing to warehouse receipt to production usage.
  • Manage warehouse operations (initial phase) including receiving, storage, stock control, and issuance to production.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials to meet production requirements and avoid stockouts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement controls to prevent shortages, excess stock, or losses.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for consumables.
  • Coordinate logistics and delivery schedules to align with production plans.
  • Negotiate supplier terms, pricing, and service levels in line with company policies and global agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement, inventory, and material movements.
  • Work closely with the accounting firm to ensure inventory reconciliation and accurate financial tracking.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement procurement, logistics, and warehouse management processes to support uninterrupted production.
  • Establish material planning and replenishment systems aligned with production schedules.
  • Receiving and inspection of materials.
  • Storage and stock organization.
  • Inventory tracking and cycle counts.
  • Issuance of materials to production.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time visibility of stock levels and material movements.
  • Ensure alignment between procurement plans, inventory levels, and production requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements in reliability, quality, and cost.
  • Coordinate inbound logistics and transportation to ensure timely material delivery.
  • Prepare procurement and inventory reports for management review.
  • Monitor market conditions, supplier risks, and material availability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability standards.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and production teams to support plant ramp-up and performance.

KPIs/ Measures of Success
Performance in this role will be assessed against the following indicators:

  • Material Availability: No production stoppages due to material shortages.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Alignment between physical stock and system records.
  • Inventory Efficiency: Optimal stock levels, minimal excess and obsolescence.
  • Procurement Performance: Timely ordering, cost control, and supplier reliability.
  • Warehouse Effectiveness: Proper storage, handling, and material flow discipline.
  • Material Flow Efficiency: Smooth and timely movement of materials to production.
  • Supply Chain Risk Management: Ability to anticipate and mitigate disruptions.
  • Discipline: Effective management of procurement costs and inventory value.
  • Collaboration: Strong alignment with production, operations, and finance (accounting firm).

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with sourcing raw materials and operational consumables, ideally in a production setting.
  • Hands-on experience in inventory and warehouse management is required.
  • Strong vendor management, negotiation, and contract management skills.
  • Experience in plant start-up or a fast-evolving environment is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, material planning.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian import/export regulations, shipping, and customs processes (if applicable).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
