Job Title: Operations Officer – Gocycle (E-Waste Digital Marketplace)

Role Summary

• The Operations Officer will play a critical role in driving day-to-day execution at Gocycle, with a primary focus on partnership coordination, field operations, and back-office support.
• This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic coordination and physical presence in the field, especially in building and managing relationships across the e-waste value chain.

Key Responsibilities
Partnership Coordination:

• Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with:
  • Scrap dealers
  • Battery collectors
  • Recycling partners
  • Logistics providers
• Act as the primary point of contact for partners
• Support negotiation and execution of partnership agreements
• Ensure smooth communication between field partners and internal teams

Field Operations & Market Development:

• Conduct regular on-ground visits to collection hubs, scrap markets, and recycling points
• Map and understand local e-waste ecosystems, especially battery flows
• Monitor supply pipelines (e.g., used car batteries, solar batteries, e-mobility batteries)
• Support aggregation and movement of e-waste materials

Back Office & Operational Support:

• Coordinate daily operational activities and workflows
• Maintain accurate records of:
  • Partner engagements
  • Transactions and volumes
  • Inventory movement
• Support reporting and basic data analysis for decision-making
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Logistics & Execution:

• Coordinate pickups, deliveries, and movement of materials
• Work with logistics partners to ensure timely execution
• Troubleshoot operational issues in real-time

Market Intelligence & Insights:

• Gather field insights on:
  • Pricing trends
  • Supply availability
  • Competitor activity
• Provide feedback to improve platform and operations

What Success Looks Like

• Strong, active network of reliable supply partners
• Efficient coordination of daily operations
• Consistent flow of e-waste materials into the platform
• Clear operational visibility and reporting

Requirements

• 2–5 years experience in operations, logistics, or field coordination
• Strong knowledge of local terrain (Lagos and surrounding areas)
• Ability to work both in the field and in an office setting
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Highly organized with attention to detail
• Self-starter with ability to operate in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred (Advantageous):

• Experience in:
  • Waste management / recycling
  • Scrap trading / informal markets
  • Battery collection (automotive, solar, inverter, etc.)
• Familiarity with supply chain or marketplace operations
• Basic data handling (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)
