We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Team Lead, Finance Operations

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The role holder would be responsible for providing strategic and operational support to the Head, Finance & Accounts by overseeing transaction management, ensuring integrity of financial records, and driving efficient finance operations in line with regulatory and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations & Transaction Management:

  • Oversee transaction processing, including inflows, outflows, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of transactions into the General Ledger (GL).
  • Monitor daily finance operations to ensure efficiency, control, and compliance.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to finance operations team members to ensure high performance and accuracy.

Finance Reporting & Record Integrity:

  • Maintain the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of accounting records and GL balances.
  • Support preparation of periodic financial reports in line with applicable standards.
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions.

Reconciliation & Control:

  • Supervise timely bank, account, and ledger reconciliations.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies, suspense accounts, and unreconciled items promptly.
  • Strengthen internal controls to minimize financial risk and errors.

Audit & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Support external audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Ensure minimal audit queries through proactive compliance and documentation.
  • Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies where required.
  • Prepare and manage CBN reports and other regulatory submissions in a timely and accurate manner.

Process Improvement & Efficiency:

  • Drive continuous improvement in finance operations, systems, and processes.
  • Enhance ease and speed of retrieval of financial data and documentation.
  • Implement best practices in transaction processing and reporting.

Stakeholder & Service Delivery:

  • Ensure timely and accurate service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide financial insights and guidance to business units to support decision-making.
  • Maintain strong relationships with banks, clients, and service providers.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, including at least 4 years in Finance Operations or in a managerial role
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA)

Key Competencies:

  • Must have experience interacting with regulators (CBN) etc.
  • Able to handle CBN Report submission; and other regulatory submission.
