The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) believes the Bible is for all Nigerians. Traditionally, the work of the BSN is to make the Bible available and affordable. Job Title: Laundry Attendant (BGH)
Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time
Purpose of the Role
- To ensure that all guest clothing and guest house bedding/linens are properly cleaned and treated, accurate records are maintained, and laundry machines are well managed and maintained for optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
Laundry Operations;
- Dry-clean guest fabrics (in-house and external guests) and guest house beddings.
- Sort, wash, iron, and fold clothes appropriately.
- Remove stains using approved and appropriate procedures.
- Perform minor sewing duties where necessary.
- Tag clothes properly for easy identification and tracking.
- Mix and apply the correct detergents suitable for specific fabrics and materials.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of laundry equipment and machines.
- Operate industrial washing machines and dryers effectively and safely.
Records & Compliance:
- Maintain appropriate and accurate laundry records.
- Adhere strictly to hygiene and operational standards.
General Duties:
- Carry out other responsibilities assigned by the manager while maintaining professionalism at all times.
Personnel Specifications
Educational Qualification:
- National Diploma (ND) in a relevant field or Senior School Certificate (SSCE).
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in a laundry or hospitality environment.
Technical Competencies:
- Sound knowledge of operating industrial washing machines and dryers.
- Understanding of fabric care techniques and detergent application.
Behavioral Competencies:
- A person of integrity and goal-driven.
- Good time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism while carrying out duties.
