Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA)

Job Summary

• Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed medical professional who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians, providing comprehensive care including diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, prescribing medication, and assisting in surgery.
• They work in all specialties and care settings, performing physical exams, ordering tests, and treating patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Perform physical examinations, take medical histories, and make daily rounds in hospitals or nursing homes.
• Diagnose and Treat: Diagnose illnesses, develop treatment plans, and treat injuries.
• Prescribe and Order: Prescribe medications and order/interpret laboratory tests and X-rays.
• Procedures: Assist in surgery, perform minor surgeries, and administer immunizations or injections.
• Counseling: Provide preventative care and patient education.

Work Environment and Education

• Settings: PAs work in hospitals, clinics, private offices, emergency rooms, and correctional institutions.
• Education: PAs hold a master's degree from an accredited program and must be licensed.
• Collaboration: While they work with physicians, they do not require direct, onsite supervision for every patient.

Salary
N150,000 - N350,000 monthly.
