We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Managing Director (Freight, Logistics, Express and Courier Services)

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Role Purpose

  • The Managing Director will provide strategic leadership to drive operational excellence, market expansion, and profitability.
  • You will oversee the entire logistics value chain—from warehousing and fleet management to international freight forwarding and last-mile courier services—ensuring the company remains a competitive leader in the Nigerian and West African markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute long-term business strategies to increase market share in the competitive Lagos and national logistics landscape.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations across sea/air freight, haulage, and express courier services, ensuring optimal route planning and minimal transit times.
  • Revenue Growth: Identify and secure high-value corporate contracts and partnerships with e-commerce platforms and manufacturing hubs.
  • Fleet & Asset Management: Supervise the maintenance, acquisition, and tracking of vehicle fleets and warehouse infrastructure to ensure 99% uptime.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations strictly adhere to NIMASA, NPA, NIPOST, and other relevant federal and state transport regulations.
  • Technology Integration: Lead the implementation of logistics management software (LMS), real-time tracking systems, and automated warehouse solutions.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the annual budget, P&L, and capital expenditure, ensuring lean operations and healthy cash flow.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 12–15 years in the logistics or supply chain industry, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role (GM or MD level).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering. An MBA is highly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Nigerian clearing and forwarding process, port operations (Apapa/Tincan), and last-mile delivery challenges.
  • Network: Proven track record of managing relationships with customs, regulatory bodies, and large-scale corporate clients.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to manage a diverse workforce, from field drivers and warehouse staff to senior department heads
